About

Over two years ago, I wrote an entry on my personal blog and titled it “Happiness is the new black.“ Since then, I’ve often thought of hosting a blog that focused on the lighter things in life. Because, let’s face it: that’s what we live for. Life is life. Sure, there are trials and tragedy and stress and inconveniences but when you think about it, those things are merely exceptions. True life is love, inspiration, kindness and goodness. Though we often take it for granted, it’s all around us. It’s why we get out of bed in the morning. It’s what we aspire to. What we hope for. It’s what we want for our children, our spouses, our mothers and fathers, our sisters, our brothers, our friends and neighbors. It’s what we want for ourselves and what we want for each other. We live it every day, yet the lighter, lovelier side of life rarely gets the “air play” that the negative side of life generally gets. Have you ever noticed that? Maybe happiness is not “dramatic,” “sensational” or “sexy” enough to draw popular attention. Well, “dramatic,” “sensational” and “sexy” are fleeting. True happiness is deep, pure and everlasting. It is subtle and it is popular because we all share an intrinsic need for it. It’s in our country’s Declaration of Independence, and I quote, “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” It’s a branch of psychology. Heck, it’s even a movement. Happiness truly is the new black.

So what makes YOU happy? Please, do share.
